Advisory

October Event #1 Message 9

Good morning, Rohnert Park residents –

The strong winds that occurred last night, particularly at higher elevations, had no significant impact to services or safety in the City. The Red Flag warning reflecting increased fire risk remains in effect until 5:00 p.m. today.

For those affected by the shut off: PG&E will inspect their lines before restoring power. They will begin the inspections around Noon today. Once they have ensured the lines are safe they will restore power. We do not know when their efforts will start in Rohnert Park; their priority will be restoring power to areas with hospitals. As they will conduct inspections only during daylight hours, if your power is not restored before nightfall it will likely remain off overnight. Full restoration may take several days. Please don’t call Dispatch/Public Safety regarding power restoration. We will let you know more when we know more. Use caution when power is restored and watch for fire hazards as appliances come back online.

For those needing a place to charge your phones or other devices, we have moved our Community Resources Center from Burton Recreation Center to the Community Center at Rohnert Park Expressway and Snyder. It

will be available from 8:00 a.m. until Noon.

We’d like to take this opportunity to breathe a sigh of relief. Our first PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event is wrapping up. Residents, City Staff, and the County were well informed, prepared, and safe.
