Advisory

Heavy rains expected over next few days, watch for mud slides.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Conditions bulletin for tomorrow through Thursday March 22nd. This is NOT a flash flood advisory, watch or warning. At this time based on their models, the NWS is predicting the bulk of the storm will hit south of us.  The current models show the storm will not reach NWS warning thresholds for the burn scar area, but we want you to be prepared nonetheless.

The NWS is predicting ½” to 1” of rain in the valley areas with 1”-2” rain in the hills and 2”-3” rain in the Tubbs area over the course of three days. The period of highest rain is predicted for this Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

The County of Sonoma will be watching for mudslides and debris flow over the next few days. If you see signs of debris flow or localized flooding on the roadways please report to Sheriff’s Dispatch at (707) 565-2121. If there is an emergency situation please dial 9-1-1.

Remember, don't drive through standing water on the roadway. Turn around, don't drown.
