Deputies shoot man in the arm after he attempted to run a victim over in a stolen truck.
Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputies shot a man in the arm last night after he attempted to run a victim over in a stolen truck. The incident began shortly after 10:30 PM when deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of Bailhache Ave in Healdsburg regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that just occurred.
It was reported that the suspect intentionally hit an acquaintance with his vehicle during an argument. The victim was uninjured but called for help. The suspect, who also had a $50,000 restraining order violation arrest warrant, fled in a stolen truck which deputies soon spotted near the Vineyard Creek apartments off Airport Blvd. When deputies tried to stop the suspect, he failed to stop and drove through a nearby mobile home park. When the suspect reached the end of the mobile home park, deputies fired their handguns at the suspect, hitting him twice in the arm, at which point he immediately surrendered.
The suspect was treated for injuries on scene by the deputies and an ambulance crew and then transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he is expected to recover.
At this time, detectives are on scene investigating the incident. Further information will be released as more is learned.
