Advisory

Weather forecasts prompting City to initiate power shutdown for about 200 customers on Fitch Mtn. starting 10/26

City Electric Public-Safety Power Shutdown: To our Healdsburg electric customers - the U.S. National Weather Service is predicting that the weather forecasted this weekend --  extremely strong, gusty winds and very hot and dry temperatures -- will be an unprecedented, historic event. These conditions are very dangerous. Public safety is of the utmost importance; our number-one priority is to keep our community members safe.

Based on these weather conditions, we will shut off power for about 200 City electric customers in the Fitch Mountain area as noted on the map. This is in the wildland urban interface. If your address is listed in the highlighted area, your power will go dark starting at 7 PM on Saturday, Oct. 26, and may not come back on until sometime on Monday, Oct. 28.

We will provide a series of notifications to affected City electric customers: We will phone-call, hang notices on your front doors, issue a Nixle alert, and provide further updates on the City website, Facebook, and Nextdoor. We will also soon post a brief video of Healdsburg Fire Chief Boaz and Utility Director Crowley explaining the need for this shut-off and the implications of the weather events this weekend.

Evacuation Center: The Community Center, 1557 Healdsburg Ave., is open for you should you need a place to stay. The evacuation center has cots, food and water, and other resources.
