LAHOP, online portal, allows residents to give information about transient person in need in their community! 
For those of us long time Antelope Valley residents, who remembers the "dancing lady" who used to dance near 15th Street West and Avenue K?
Do you ever see a family with children asking for money and are concerned for the children? What can you do when you see a Veteran asking for food near the same freeway off ramp every day and start noticing his health start to deteriorate?
LAHOP is a county wide, web based portal designed by the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) in close collaboration with the Los Angeles County Health Agency and the LA County Homeless Initiative. It's a web page that allows local residents to give a physical description of a homeless person that may be in need of service, the area they frequent and the time of day they are seen. This allows the LAHOP team to provide outreach in hopes of getting people wrap around services.
The process of getting someone "off the streets" can be a long and complex process. It often takes multiple engagements to build a trusting relationship. LAHOP is the first step in providing assistance and we are happy to share the information with our community.
