Memorial Day Weekend can be a dangerous holiday for traveling on the roadways. Thanks to a traffic enforcement grant, extra officers will be on patrol with the goal of making drivers more diligent in their driving practices, reducing traffic accidents and arresting impaired drivers.
So, please buckle up, obey the posted speed limits, put those distractions away and keep a safe distance between the vehicle in front of you. There will be traffic and OWI enforcement this afternoon and throughout the weekend.
With all of today's options for getting home safely, there's no excuse for getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. Driving impaired is never worth the risk, not to yourself or anyone else. If you plan on drinking, designate a sober driver. Keep yourself, your loved ones and those who share the road, SAFE.
