Advisory

E Jackson residents may smell odor of gas due to leak that has been fixed. Those that were evacuated can return home.

A natural gas line was struck causing a leak this morning 10/12 just before 8:00 am on N Jean St in East Jackson.  Residents in the area have been notified by law enforcement and were evacuated within one block of the leak, but the evacuation order has now been lifted and residents can return to their homes.  The gas line has been clamped and the situation has been controlled.  Residents in East Jackson can expect to smell the lingering odor of natural gas until it completely disappates.

First responders have determined that the schools are safe and that they will go about their normal school day.  Those visiting Davey Jackson Elementary may need to detour around N Jean St by using Moran St to Teton Ave while Lower Valley Energy crews work on completing repairs.
