The shooting investigation in the Hamilton area has concluded and the shelter in place has been LIFTED for all streets in the area. We would like to thank the community for your patience while officers investigated the incident. 
 
We appreciate the asssitance from our partners at Novato Fire, Marin Sheriff, Marin CHP, and CHP Golden Gate Air Operations for assisting with this case. More information will be released tomorrow.

10PM UPDATE: The Novato Police Department is investigating a shooting in the Hamilton area. A large presence of emergency vehicles and personnel will be in the area until deemed safe.

A Shelter in Place is still ACTIVE for the streets listed below in original message. Shelter in place, make sure doors are locked and avoid the area if not at your residence.

The police canine is continuing to search the area for suspects involved in the incident. An update will be provided once more information becomes available.

9:15PM UPDATE: A Shelter in Place is still ACTIVE in the Hamilton area (streets listed below in original message). Shelter in place, if home and avoid the area if not at your residence. 

Novato Police, Novato Fire, Marin Sheriff, and CHP are investigating a disturbance involving a group of juveniles in the Hamilton area. NPD Drone & Canine Teams, along with a CHP Helicopter are now in the area assisting with the incident.
 
A large presence of emergency vehicles and personnel will be in the area until deemed safe. An update will be provided once more information becomes available.
