Suspect wanted in shooting
On July 9, 2022, at approximately at 4:04PM, the Middle Township Police Department responded to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Whitesboro section of the Township for a report of a shooting. The victim, a 22 year old female from Whitesboro, stated her ex-boyfriend, Malik Brogden, age 22, of Maryland, had just shot at her with a firearm. The victim reported she was initially approached by Brogden at her place of employment and she got in her vehicle and left the area. Brogden then followed the victim in his vehicle to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and fired one shot towards her vehicle. The victim or her vehicle were not struck by the round fired by Brogden. Brogden then fled the scene in his vehicle, reported to be a black 2013 two door Mercedes 350 with a Maryland Temporary Registration.
There is currently an active arrest warrant for Brogden for the following charges: two counts of 1st degree Attempted Homicide, two counts 2nd degree Aggravated Assault, 2nd degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose, 2nd degree Possession of Handgun without a Permit and 4th degree Stalking. All Charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty.
