On Sunday, May 1, 2022, at approximately 2340 hours, the Middle Township Police Department responded to the Burleigh section of Middle Township for a vehicle that had crashed into the woods in the area of Shunpike Road and Oyster Road.  Upon officer’s arrival, they found the vehicle had struck multiple trees, overturned and was now on fire.  The driver was entrapped and unable to be removed from the vehicle. The driver, Jordan Lee (31 Years Old) a resident of Burleigh, was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Middle Township Police Crash Unit.  Assisting with the crash were Middle Township Emergency Medical Services and Cape May Court House Fire Department.
