Joint Traffic Task Force Speed Enforcement Operation nets 130 citations. Remember to SLOW DOWN!

In 2020, The City of Lancaster suffered 29 fatal traffic collisions and over 800 injury collisions. Speed was a factor in nearly 60% of the fatal traffic collisions. The speed involved in a collision is directly related to the extent of the injury the parties endure.

On Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, the Antelope Valley Traffic Task Force (AVTTF) consisting of Lancaster Station Deputies, Palmdale Station Deputies, and AV CHP Officers, conducted a speed enforcement operation on
Avenue K near Elm Street, in the City of Lancaster. This operation was part of our ongoing effort to reduce fatal and injury traffic collisions in the Antelope Valley. The operation resulted in over 130 citations during a three hour period.

Lancaster Station will be conducting similar enforcement efforts throughout the city in the future. We would like to remind motorists to slow down, be attentive, drive defensively and sober so that you may avoid a collision.

Stay safe this holiday season. The life you save may be a friend, loved one or your own.

Lancaster Sheriff’s Station polices the City of Lancaster, Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, and the unincorporated communities of Antelope Acres, Lake Los Angeles, and Quartz Hill in the Antelope Valley.
