Sheriff's Office investigating shooting incident on Katy Circle, Lady's Island. One woman wounded. 
At approximately 11:20 AM, a woman was shot by unknown subjects in the area of Katy Circle, Lady's Island. Sheriff's Office deputies are on scene.
It is believed the unknown subjects were traveling in a vehicle and left the scene immediately after the shooting.
There does not appear to be a threat to the general public.
Although the scene has been secured, Lady's Island Middle School was placed on a lockdown, as it is in proximity to Katy Circle. All students are safe.
Residents and motorists in the area of Katy Circle can expect an increased law enforcement presence over the next few hours.
The woman is being treated for gunshot wound(s) at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.
