Malibu City Hall is closed. However, essential City staff, including the Emergency Operations Team, are working. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) was activated on March 13 and is operating 7 days a week. Staff is answering the City’s main phone line (310-456-2489) but, due to the high number of calls, it is recommended that residents email [email protected] for the quickest response. Thank you for your patience – we will respond as quickly as possible.


COVID-19 DRIVE THROUGH TESTING AT CITY HALL FOR RESIDENTS – APRIL 8-11. NOTE NEW TIME: 10AM – 1PM
The City of Malibu and its partners, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), Covid Clinic and Malibu Medical Group, conducted more than 250 free novel coronavirus (COVID-19) tests on Monday and continued a second day of testing for first responders and essential workers at the drive-thru testing offered at Malibu City Hall.

Drive-thru testing for residents of the broader Malibu community begins Wednesday, April 8 and continues through Saturday, April 11, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You must be in line by 1 PM. If you have health insurance coverage, your insurance will be billed for the cost of the test. If you do not have insurance, then a $60 donation is requested. The donation must be made at https://www.coreresponse.org/.

Any community member or business that would like to support this testing service for those who do not have health insurance may make a donation to https://www.coreresponse.org.


MALIBU VIRTUAL RECREATION CENTER ‘STAY AT HOME’ PROGRAMS - POSTCARDS FROM HOME
The Community Services Dept’s adds the new Postcards from Home program to its Virtual Recreation Center. Postcards from Home helps people stay connected to the community by mail. Write a poem, send cheer, draw a picture, or send a photo of your favorite Malibu location. The City will mail your message and photo to others in our community, including members of the Malibu Senior Center. Letters and photos must be submitted by Monday, April 13, at 5:00 PM. The postcards will not contain the address of the person submitting the form. Submit online at MalibuCity.org/VirtualRec.


NEW STATE WEBSITE FOR MAKING MEDICAL SUPPLY CONTRIBUTIONS
Governor Newsom announced today a new website has been launched for companies and individuals wanting to contribute medical supplies and other critical resources, either for donation or purchase, in support of the State’s efforts to combat COVID-19. LA COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH URGES RESIDENTS TO NOT GO OUT IN PUBLIC THIS WEEK, IF POSSIBLE
The Director of the LA County Dept of Public Health stated today many more COVID-19 cases are expected this week and over the next few weeks. She strongly urged all residents that have enough supplies in their home to skip shopping altogether this week and next week, if possible, or arrange for medicines and groceries to be delivered due to the significant increases in confirmed cases and an unknown number of individuals who may be infected without symptoms, but who can spread the virus.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are providing resources for individuals to absorb and manage the tremendous amount of information available about COVID-19.

LA COUNTY COVID-19 TESTING
Los Angeles County is making Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing available at several locations in the County, strictly limited to County residents who are in the most high-risk categories and most vulnerable. For people who prefer not to visit a drive-through test center, there are a limited number of tests available at a walk-in clinic. CORONAVIRUS PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE
The City of Malibu continues to monitor the status of the Coronavirus and implement measures to protect public health and safety and is doing everything possible to support vulnerable community members.  The City continues to follow the recommendations of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (LADPH), California Office of Emergency Services (CALOES) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is taking steps to reduce the likelihood of community spread. 

All Residents should be complying with the State’s “Stay at Home” order, and leaving their homes only to conduct essential business, such as grocery shopping, medical appointments. When it is necessary to go out in public for essential business, residents are recommended to wear cloth face coverings to help prevent the spread of the virus. Residents should also connect with neighbors, particularly seniors or those with underlying health conditions, to see if they need help in any way.
