We are temporarily limiting public access to our Beaufort and Hilton Head Island offices starting Monday
 

Beginning Monday March 23, 2020 at 8:00 a.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office will temporarily limit public access to its Beaufort headquarters, 2001 Duke Street. We will still provide the same professional service, but we request that you contact our office by telephone 843-255-3200 to file a non-emergency report. For copies of incident reports, copies of other types of documents, background checks or non-ferrous metal permits, the public is asked when entering the building to communicate with the deputy sheriff located at the window to the left. 
 
In addition, and also on Monday, March 23, 2020, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office’s Hilton Head Island substation, 70 Shelter Cove Lane, will temporarily limit public access. For non-emergency assistance on Hilton Head Island, and before traveling to the substation, we request that you call 843-255-3300 for assistance.
 

Due to coronavirus (COVID-19), and recommendations for social distancing, we are suspending all walk-in public fingerprinting until further notice.
 

Town of Hilton Head Island is sending a strong message across the country that as other communities close their beaches, the parties and bad behavior are not welcome here. This is about a desire for responsible behavior, respect for your fellow citizen, and the importance of social distancing. If you abide by these guidelines you should be fine.
