Homicide investigators have arrested and charged a man for shooting and killing an employee during the robbery of a local scrap metal business in north east Harris County.

On Monday, November 5, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m, 37-year-old Courtney Cortez Hall, shot and killed 40 year old Magdaleno Ramos while he was working at B & M scrap metal at 12607 Eastex Freeway.

Ramos was unloading scrap metal from a vehicle, when Hall approached him. He shot Ramos and then entered the pay station office.

After taking the money from the office, he fled to a customer’s vehicle and tried to take it at gunpoint. Hall was unsuccessful and fled on foot south bound on the service road.

Investigators recently received information that tied Hall to the murder scene.

Hall was arrested on Monday, March 2, 2020 without incident. He is now awaiting arraignment at the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Detention facility.
