At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2019, a crane will be moved from Coffin Point Road, St. Helena Island, onto U.S. 21 southbound toward Harbor Island. During the movement, and due to the crane's width, the Harbor River Bridge will be shut down for approximately 10 minutes to allow the crane to cross. The movement, which will be escorted by Sheriff's Office deputies, may take up to two hours to complete. Other than the temporary bridge shut down, the movement of the crane should have minimal impact on U.S. 21 traffic.

Lady's Island-St. Helena Fire District and Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services have been made aware of tomorrow's temporary Harbor River Bridge closure and have planned ahead.
