Power Restoration Update

The City of Lakeport has received confirmation from PG&E that electrical power restoration for Lake County has begun. The restoration process may take several hours or more to be completed because PG&E must perform line inspections.  During this time, we urge the public to be respectful of and cooperate with PG&E workers so that their work can be completed quickly and safely.

If you have spoiled food as a result of a power outage:

  • Please put unpackaged food waste in your BLACK waste cart that is used for normal trash.
  • Please put food packaging in your BLUE recycling cart depending on material (visit http://www.lakeportdisposal.com for guidelines).

See this link for tips for dealing with potentially spoiled food: https://www.foodsafety.gov/food-safety-charts/food-safety-during-power-outage

For more details about the PSPS program please see the City’s PSPS webpage @ http://www.cityoflakeport.com/public_safety_power_shutoff.php or PG&E’s website @ https://www.pge.com/en_US/safety/emergency-preparedness/natural-disaster/wildfires/public-safety-power-shutoff-faq.page

On behalf of all City of Lakeport staff and our elected officials we are grateful for our community’s cooperation and good will during this PSPS event.  We are proud to serve such a great community!
