Advisory

October Event #1 - Message 6

We’d like to provide an update on the power shutoff and fire risks:

  1. The National Weather Service is predicting strong winds tonight from 5:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. The peak winds are expected between 2:00 and 4:00 a.m. We encourage you to prepare by ensuring you have a “grab and go bag” ready, knowing your evacuation routes, and leaving your phones on overnight, so we can notify you if needed. For further information on preparing for fire safety see attached PG&E brochure.

  1. PG&E does not plan further Public Safety Power Outages (PSPS) for Sonoma County. However, with high winds expected, unplanned outages may occur.

  1. Power is currently out in W Section and parts of M Section. PG&E has indicated they will start restoring power mid-day tomorrow, but we do not know when this will happen in Rohnert Park. We will keep you informed as we get more information. PG&E’s website is overloaded and may not be available.

  1. Please be considerate of PG&E’s crews when they arrive to restore power as those on the ground are doing their best.

  1. The Burton Avenue Recreation Center will be open until 6:00 p.m. for those looking for a place to re-charge your devices. The address for the Burton Avenue Recreation Center is at 7421 Burton Avenue.

  1. Resource information is also available on the Rohnert Park City website.
