Seven People Arrested at Sobriety Checkpoint
Suffolk County Police arrested seven people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue last night and this morning.
Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team (SAFE-T) conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint on eastbound Route 27 Service Road at Route 112 in Patchogue from 11:30 p.m. on August 16 to 2:35 a.m. on August 17. The checkpoint was part of on-going summer enforcement operations targeting impaired driving due to alcohol and/or drugs. A total of 431 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:
- George Meadows, 59, of 49 Crestwood Drive, Shirley
- Maureen Novak, 61, of 8668 Querce Court, Naples, Florida
- James McPeak, 63, of 320 Inlet View East, Mattituck
- Stephen Termini, 28, of 52 Strafford St., Mastic
- Daniel Acevedo, 27, of 354 Decatur Ave., Shirley
The following person was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by a Combined Influence of Alcohol and Drugs:
- Raven Gonzalez, 29, of 87 Northern Blvd., Shirley
The following person was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol:
- Rosanna Iorio, 34, of 174 Huntington Drive, Mastic Beach
The above individuals will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 17th.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
