The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Deputy involved in the shooting near the Santa Rosa Plaza on August 1st has been identified as David Edney. Deputy Edney is a Field Training Officer with 10 years of law enforcement experience; 5 ½ years with the Sebastopol Police Department and 4 ½ years with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
