Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that critically injured a man in Holbrook last night.
 
Frank Maggio was driving a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer northbound on Nicolls Road when he lost control of the vehicle while changing lanes at approximately 8:40 p.m. The Mitsubishi overturned and crossed the center median where it was struck by a southbound 2007 Nissan Murano. 
 
Maggio, 20, of Centereach was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Nissan, Amanda Recchia, 24, of Patchogue and her passenger, Dan Fey, 25, of Miller Place, were transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
