Man and Woman Arrested for Robbing 79-Year-Old Woman
Suffolk County Police today arrested a man and woman for injuring and robbing a 79-year-old Ronkonkoma woman in May.
Patrick Schlereth and Brittany Thorner robbed the woman of her purse in a parking lot, located at 318 Portion Road, in Ronkonkoma on May 26, at approximately 5:45 p.m. During the robbery the woman suffered injuries to her arm.
Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, Schlereth, 25, of 191 Edinburgh Drive, Ridge, and Thorner, 22, of 48 Woodcliff Road, Islip Terrace, were arrested in a car at the intersection of Newbridge Road and Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow at approximately 12:55 p.m. today and charged with Robbery 2nd Degree.
The two will be held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on July 7.
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
