Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Urge Water Safety During July 4 Holiday 
What: The July 4 holiday draws thousands of Harris County residents to lakes and rivers that can pose a threat to those who don’t follow safety guidelines. Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Texas Parks and Wildlife officials who patrol these waterways will offer advice for celebrants. Deputies will escort members of the news media on short boat trips onto Lake Houston.
