Update to Valley Ford shooting

This is a followup press release about the shooting that happened Saturday night in Valley Ford.

On June 29 at approximately 9:40 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 12000 block of Valley Ford Road for multiple reports of a fight involving a gun.  Deputies arrived and found approximately 30 people in and around a house.  The crowd directed deputies to two victims. The first victim was a man located in a car with a serious head wound.  The second victim was a man located in the backyard with a leg wound.  Deputies immediately requested two ambulances and a medical helicopter for the victims.  The victim with the head wound was transported by air to a nearby hospital; the victim with the leg wound was transported by ground to a nearby hospital.

Once the victims were transported, deputies searched the property and confirmed the suspects had left.  They searched the area for the suspects on the ground and by air with Henry 1, but were not able to find them.  At the same time, other deputies began interviewing people to determine what had happened.  They learned the people at the house were attending an after-party that followed a gender reveal party held earlier that day at Finley Park in Santa Rosa.  A fight occurred, which resulted in the two men being wounded.  Detectives are still investigating how they were wounded and why the fight broke out.

Violent Crimes detectives have been actively investigating this case since Saturday night and the investigation is still ongoing.  Another press release will be issued tomorrow with more details.  Detectives have served search warrants on the house and approximately six cars that were at the scene.  As of this press release, both victims are still alive.  The head wound is life threatening, but the leg wound is not.
