Weak magnitude earthquake occurs in western Malibu 
According to the US Geological Survey, a 2.8 magnitude earthquake occurred at approximately 12:35 AM PST in the area of Trancas Canyon. No damage has been reported at this time. City Public Works crew is en route to assess the area.
Residents should continue to maintain situational awareness and exercise caution in areas prone to mud and debris flow.
