Harris County Sheriff’s Office Child Abuse Unit investigators have arrested and charged a 25-year-old woman with
abandoning /endangering her infant daughter

Investigators arrested Charmaine Delquis Edmond last night, Monday, November 19, 2018, after she returned to a local motel where she had left her infant nearly 4 hours later.

Deputies were called to the Best Classic Inn located at 1316 Rankin Circle Drive in north Harris County, after the motel manager found the 6 month old infant girl in a room all alone at around 2:30 p.m.

The manager stated Edmond checked into the room on the previous Sunday evening.

It is unclear how long the infant girl was alone until being discovered by motel personnel.

The infant was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Woodlands for an initial examination.

The infant did not suffer any significant injuries and was placed in the custody of Children’s Protective Services.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., Ms. Edmond arrived back at the motel and began inquiring to management about the whereabouts of her infant.

Child Abuse Investigators arrived and detained Edmond for questioning.

Her statement was confusing and constantly changed while being interviewed.

Edmond is currently being held on a $1000 bond, she has a court appearance on the 26th of November in the 182nd Felony Court.
