HARRIS COUNTY, TX- Prosecutors with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office have accepted three counts of Possession of Child Pornography against Karey Michael Goolsby, 56, following an investigation by members of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office High Tech Crimes unit.

Investigators assisted Special Agents of the Homeland Security Cyber Investigation Group with an investigation involving the possession and distribution of Child Pornography.

HCSO investigators learned a cyber tip had been reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from Twitter.

The cyber tip reported an account using the Twitter handle “Daddy Faps” who was suspected of uploading images believed to be child pornography.

Through further analysis it was learned the IP address associated to the Twitter account resolved to a residence in the Spring area in north Harris County.

Homeland Security Investigators, along with members of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served an evidentiary search warrant at Goolsby’s home.

While serving the warrant, a non-custodial interview was conducted with the defendant who denied the allegations, however he admitted he lived at the home alone.

At one point during the interview, the defendant told investigators they would find “stuff” they didn’t like during their search.

A forensic examination of Goolsby’s electronic devices revealed that he possessed over 220 images and videos of child sexual assault.

Three of the videos discovered during the forensic examination depicted the sexual assault of a child believed to be no older than 10 years of age.

Goolsby is currently free on a $30,000 bond, and has a court date of October 19, 2018 in the 230th Felony Court.
