Advisory

A reminder from the Englishtown Police Department to secure your vehicles.

The Englishtown Police Department is reminding everyone to be sure to secure their vehicle when left unattended even if the vehicle is parked in the driveway or garage. Vehicles in surrounding communities have been stolen not only from the driveway but from the garage also. Never leave your vehicle unlocked and/or with the key fob in the vehicle and never leave valuables in plain sight. Motorcycles also need to be secured with their front forks locked. A motorcycle was stolen from town two nights ago and an attempt was made to steal another motorcycle last night but the thief abandoned their attempt and fled the area mostl likely due to the increased police presence last night. Increased patrols will continue in the area and officers will be patrolling the side streets and developments with alley lights and spot lights illuminated. If observed by the public, there is no need for concern, it’s just the officers pro-actively patrolling the area. If anyone has any information about the recent theft and/or the attempted theft you are encouraged to contact Acting Detective-Sergeant Alex Dinicola at 732-4467001 ext. 232.
