Suffolk County Police Property / Auto Crime Unit detectives today arrested a man for multiple larcenies and auto stripping following an investigation into the thefts of numerous truck batteries.
 
Dennis Kravette was arrested, following an investigation that lasted several weeks, for the theft of 90 batteries and the attempted theft of 14 batteries within the Fifth Precinct.
 
Kravette, 51, of 169 Sycamore Lane, Islandia, was taken into custody by Property / Auto Crime Unit detectives after he was caught stealing batteries from tractor trailers at Get Moving USA, located at 445 Sills Road, Yaphank, at approximately 1:05 a.m. Kravette was charged with five counts of Grand Larceny 4^th Degree, one count Attempted Grand Larceny 4^th Degree, seven counts of Petit Larceny, six counts of Auto Stripping 2^nd Degree and seven counts of Auto Stripping 3^rd Degree.
 
Fifth Squad detectives also charged Kravette with Grand Larceny 4^th Degree related to a prior battery theft and Grand Larceny 4^th Degree for a previously reported theft of two credit cards.
 
Kravette is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, on July 7.
