Details: On Wednesday June 20, 2018, at approximately 10:15 pm, Corcoran Police Officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2500 block of Anderson Lane. The vehicle stopped in a field where three of the vehicle’s occupants exited and ran from the vehicle. A fourth occupant was detained and officers observed this subject wearing latex gloves. The subject was identified as Ernesto Sanchez, who is a known gang member from Hanford. A search of the vehicle located a 9mm firearm, a ski mask and ammunition. A second occupant of the vehicle, a minor from Tulare, was later located and was arrested on warrants out of Tulare County. Through their investigation, officers discovered the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle from Corcoran. Ernesto Sanchez was booked into the Kings County Jail on charges of Vehicle Theft, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm with the Intent to commit a Felony, Gang Member in Possession of a Firearm, Gang Member in Possession of Ammunition and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. Sanchez is being held on $180,000.00 bail. The juvenile was booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Center for his outstanding warrant.
