On Wednesday, May 30, 2018, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Auto Theft and West District Patrol units conducted an undercover “bank jugging” operation on S. Mason Rd with the first stop at the Chase Bank located at 400 S. Mason Rd.

"Jugging" is a type of theft in which suspects will specifically target cash and/or valuables in vehicles. Suspects may watch an individual withdraw cash from a bank, follow them to their next destination, and then break into the vehicle to take the cash.

Investigators observed jugging suspects breaking into an undercover vehicle, taking a bank bag inside.

Patrol units attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle.

The three suspects fled in an SUV eastbound on and off the Katy Freeway from S. Mason to Greenhouse Rd exit.

The driver lost control of the vehicle while on the freeway, striking the crash barrels and the concrete retaining wall.

Deputies took all three adult male suspects in custody without further incident.

The suspect’s vehicle was completely engulfed in flame shortly after.
EMS and Fire department personnel arrived on scene, where all three suspects were transported to the Methodist West Hospital.

They are expected to be released in good condition.

Investigators have charged Bryant Keith Davis (dob 06/07/91), Bryan Randle (dob 08/12/82) and Alaric Jenkins (dob 07/16/96) with Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, and Jenkins receiving an additional felony Evading in a Motor Vehicle charge.

Investigators are reviewing cases to determine if these suspects are a match for other " Jugging " type thefts.
