Two People Arrested for Selling E-Liquid Nicotine to Minors
Suffolk County Police arrested two people for selling e-liquid nicotine to minors at businesses located in the Town of Smithtown.
In response to community complaints, Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers and representatives from the Suffolk County Department of Health Services Tobacco Regulation Enforcement Unit conducted an investigation on May 28 into the sale of e-liquid nicotine to minors at 12 businesses.
The following people were arrested and charged with two counts Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree:
- Anilkumar Prajapati, 29, Evolve Smoke Shop, 59 East Main St., Smithtown
- A 16-year-old male, Nesconset Smoke Shop, 204 Smithtown Boulevard, Nesconset
The owners of the above businesses were issued a notice of violation by the Suffolk County Department of Health.
The following businesses complied, and refused the sale of e-liquid nicotine to minors:
- Deli Barn, 2647 Middle Country Road, Centereach
- U.S. Gas, 2691 Middle Country Road, Lake Grove
- Conoco Gas, 3089 Middle Country Road, Lake Grove
- Aroma Smoke Shop, 6 E. Main Street, Smithtown
- Suffolk Vape, 165-A Terry Road, Smithtown
- Krypton, 260 Smithtown Blvd, Smithtown
- Mobil Gas, 271 Portion Road, Lake Ronkonkoma
- Shell Gas, 1331 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge
- BP Gas, 1395 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge
- Mobil Gas, 1670 Veterans Highway, Islandia
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
