Arrest made for drugs and endangering the welfare of a child
On Monday, May 21, 2018 at approximately 9am, police were dispatched to the Middle Township Elementary #1 school for found marijuana. Upon investigation by Cpl. Castellano and Class 2 Officer Richard McHale, it was learned that the accused, Bobby J. Wilson, 30 years old from the Burleigh section of Middle Township, called the school asking to come and retrieve a wallet from within his daughter’s backpack. Upon arrival at the school, the backpack was checked by school staff where a wallet was not located, rather a McDonalds bag containing under 50 grams of suspected marijuana was found. Bobby Wilson was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 50 grams, endangering the welfare of a child and an outstanding traffic warrant stemming from another jurisdiction. Wilson was incarcerated in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending a bail hearing. The child was unharmed during this incident.
