Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a man on Jericho Turnpike in Commack today.
 
Thomas Canale was driving a 2006 Honda eastbound on Jericho Turnpike when he attempted to make a left turn onto northbound Indian Head Road and collided with a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Gino Macchio, who was traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike at approximately 8 p.m.
 
Macchio, 25, of Dix Hills, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries. Canale, 26, of Massapequa, was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the Honda was not injured.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing.
