SUSPECT: Benjamin Jaeger- 33 years old from Walnut Creek

On 1/23/18 at 7:23 PM, a Walnut Creek Police Officer witnessed a vehicle strike two pedestrians in a crosswalk in the 2700 block of N. Main Street.
Officers conducted an enforcement stop and detained the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Based on the driver’s statement and the eye-witness account of the incident by the officer, the driver was arrested for 664/187 PC, attempt homicide. He was then transported to the Contra Costa County Jail in Martinez where he was booked.
The victims were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were later released.
