On September 14^th, 2017 at approximately 8:23 PM, the Middle Township Police Department responded to a reported pedestrian motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 9 and County Route 657 in the Cape May Court House section of the Township.  The investigation revealed Leonard Panzini, age 47 of Cape May Court House, was driving east bound on CR657 going through the intersection of Route 9 when he struck a pedestrian with his BMW 328.  The pedestrian, Elizabeth Rourke, age 70 of Goshen, was walking north across CR657 in the crosswalk, however she had the red light at the time of the accident.   Rourke had multiple injuries and was transported via medevac to Atlantic Regional Medical Center, city division.  Rourke was last known to be in critical condition.  Middle Township EMS, AtlantiCare Medics, Court House Fire and Cape May County Fire Police assisted with this incident.  No charges were filed at this time.
