HCSO Teams Up with Cy-Fair Volunteer Firefighters to Demonstrate Dangers of Staying Inside Hot, Unattended Vehicle.

On Saturday, August, 5, 2017, at approximately 11:15 a.m., the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department (CFVFD) and the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) will conduct a Joint-Operation public event.

The purpose of this demonstration is to show the general public the true intensity of heat and related medical emergencies that can occur when a child or pet is left for an extended period of time in a vehicle.

Educational facts will be discussed during the demonstration. The event will include a ‘Hot Car’ demonstration, in which 2 firefighters from the CFVFD and 2 deputies from the HCSO will be seated in a CFVFD Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) in front of Home Depot with the “standard vehicle” not running under direct sunlight. The firefighters & deputies conducting the demonstration will attempt thirty (30) minutes inside the SUV.
