Armed Robbery at North Aurora Store

NORTH AURORA, IL—On June 6, 2017 at 5:32 p.m., patrol officers of the North Aurora Police Department were dispatched to a store in the 0-100 blk of S. Lincolnway, for an armed robbery.
 
Upon arrival, officers learned that a Hispanic male entered the store and, after walking around the store for a few minutes, approached the clerk to ask for a specific type of liquor and then left the store.  He returned less than a minute later, displayed a gun, and demanded cash from the register. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen running east toward the Fox River.  The clerk was not injured.
 
The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male with a full beard, wearing a white or gray hooded sweatshirt with “Nike” in large letters across the chest, a white Chicago Blackhawks hat, dark sunglasses, dark jeans and a glove on his right hand.  He also appears to have a tattoo or writing on his left hand/wrist area.
 
The weapon was described as a black semi-automatic pistol with a plastic bag over the barrel.
 
A search of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful.  Investigators obtained the attached images of the suspect from store surveillance video.
