Armed Robbers' Crime Spree Foiled by Deputies

(HOUSTON, TX) - HCSO deputies were able to stop a trio of armed robbers on a crime spree after a brief vehicle pursuit in northwest Harris County.

It all started Thursday morning, shortly before 7 a.m. when the three suspects pulled in front of a house in the 3600 block of Sableglen Dr. Two of the suspects got out of the car and robbed their first victim at gunpoint.

Within a few minutes, they struck again and again and again, stealing purses and cell phones.

They robbed victims at gunpoint in the 3300 block of Allington Ct.; in the 4100 block of Brookhead Trail; and in the 5300 block of Theall Rd. At the Theall Rd. location the suspects didn't take anything because neighbors heard the victim screaming for help and went outside to investigate, scaring the suspects away.

At about 8 a.m. the suspects broke into a home in the 12500 block of Rosslare Dr. There, witnesses saw them walking out of the house carrying a large flat screen television and game system into a maroon Chevrolet Traverse parked on the street. It was later determined the vehicle had been stolen at gunpoint at a fast food restaurant near the intersection of Fairbanks North Houston and Hwy 290 on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.

After the burglary, HCSO patrol Deputy T. Robinson saw the suspects’ vehicle and tried to pull it over but the suspects refused to stop. A pursuit ensued through a residential neighborhood in which the rear passenger bailed out of the suspects’ moving vehicle at Welchpool Glen and Kelly Lane. A perimeter was established and with the assistance of K-9 deputies this suspect was apprehended a short time later.

Meanwhile the pursuit continued southbound on Veterans Memorial and through northwest portions of unincorporated Harris County and the City of Houston. The pursuit ended near the intersection of Greenbriar Colony and Weldon. The driver was apprehended immediately; the front seat passenger was apprehended after a short foot chase.

Three males were arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated robbery and one count of burglary of a habitation. They are: Malik Gray, 18; Rhyis Williams, 17; and a 16 year-old whose name will not be released.

The HCSO wishes to thank the HPD and Precinct 4 Constables Office for their help in arresting these suspects.

Investigators are trying to determine if they're responsible for other crimes in the area.
