HCSO: Sheriff Adrian Garcia Joins Partners in Drive-Thru Car Safety Clinic

WHO: Harris County Sheriff’s Office, AAA Texas, Safe Kids Greater Houston, and Texas Department of Transportation. Additional support provided by: Texas Department of Transportation, Houston TranStar, Houston-Galveston Area Council, Houston METRO, SAFEClear Program, Deerbrook Mall and the Houston Car Dealers Association.
WHAT: Demonstration of car care inspection and car seat check-up the public can expect to receive at the Thurs., Oct. 23 event at Deerbrook Mall. Interviews with Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia, AAA Texas Auto Technician Steve van Winkle, and SafeKids Greater Houston Kristin Beckworth also available.
A phone bank will precede the drive-thru clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., and the public will be able to call in with their car maintenance and car seat safety questions before attending the event. English and Spanish techs will be answering callers’ questions. The public number to call for English is: (713) 866-7021 and for Spanish: (713) 866-7032.
WHY: Several community organizations are working together to hold a free drive-thru community Car Safety Clinic to equip community members with information about the importance of regular car care and basic maintenance to extend the life of their vehicles. The drive-thru Car Safety Clinic is set for Thursday, Oct. 23, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
