Arrested and Booked Suspects:
1.Justin Qunnaphonh Phabmixay – 21 years old, Santa Ana Resident - Parole
2.Michael Tran Nguyen – 29 years old, Transient – PRCS Probation

Details: On 3/13/14, at approximately 0147 hours, uniformed patrol personnel responded to the area of Hazard and Harbor regarding a robbery that had just occurred. The victim reported he was robbed by three armed male Asian suspects who were in a black truck. Loss was the victim’s money.
When officers arrived at the crime scene they observed a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description. Officers attempted to make a stop on the vehicle and a pursuit ensued that lasted about 30 minutes and traveled through 5 different cities. At one point during the pursuit it is believed that one of the suspects fled from the truck and was able to avoid capture. The pursuit terminated at Lampson and West Street, in Garden Grove, after the suspect driver crashed into the curb.
An officer-involved shooting occurred at the same location. Both suspects were taken into custody. No suspects or officers were injured. Three weapons were recovered at the location where the pursuit was terminated. They included a shotgun, handgun and an assault weapon which had an extended magazine. Both suspects were transported to the SAPD Jail where they were booked. Detectives continue to investigate the crimes and request the public’s assistance in identifying the third outstanding suspect.
