HCSO Investigating Deputy Involved Shooting.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide unit is investigating the wounding of two aggravated robbery suspects by an off duty HCSO deputy that occurred at the Domino‘s Pizza located at the 7900 block of Louetta drive in north Harris county on Thursday , February 28, 2014, at around 12 am.

Investigators stated that the two armed men entered the store wearing gloves and bandanas covering their faces and demanding money from the employees. The off duty deputy, who is also an employee of the store, was inside the store when the two suspects entered.

Fearing for his life and that of the employee’s, the deputy drew his weapon and engaged the suspects. The suspects and deputy exchanged gunfire, with the deputy striking both suspects.
The suspects were transported to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition. The deputy and other employees were not injured.

Deputy Glenn Shaft is a 25 year veteran of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Internal Affairs and the Office of Inspector General will investigate this incident. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office will also conduct an independent investigation of the shooting.
