Driver Sentenced to 15 years for Death of HCSO Sergeant
(HOUSTON, TX) - Andres Muños-Muños was sentenced to 15 years in prison this morning after pleading guilty to the Intoxication Manslaughter of HCSO Sgt. Dwayne Polk last year.
Muños-Muños, 23, was driving drunk when his vehicle struck Sgt. Polk's truck on May 19, 2013 as the sergeant was on his way home from an extra job.
Sgt. Polk's 11 year-old son, Christian, read the victim's impact statement at the sentencing.
Muños-Muños had been previously arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in 2012.
Sgt. Polk was a 16 year veteran of the HCSO.
