Update - At 11:18 AM, a 68 year old Santa Ana resident was driving alone in the area of 4300 W. 17TH Street when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the raised center median. It appeared that her vehicle a 1997 Lexus ES300, was travelling east in the #1 lane prior to the collision. There was no evidence or indication of a collision with another vehicle or what may have caused the Lexus to leave the roadway.

The driver was transported to the hospital where she later succumbed to injuries sustain in the collision. Intoxication does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
