Three people were in custody and being questioned by Sheriff's Office investigators today following stabbings at Spring High School that left at least one teenager dead and three others injured.

The weapon or weapons used in the attack had not yet been recovered by investigators, Sheriff Adrian said at a news conference. He asked members of the public with information about the violence to contact the Sheriff's Office (713-967-5810) or Crime Stoppers of Houston (713-222-8477). Anonymous tips in the form of e-mails, texts, photos and video can be sent through the free smart phone application iWatchHarrisCounty (more info at iWatchHarrisCounty.com).

The three "persons of interest" being questioned were believed to be the only suspects in the case, the sheriff said, but the investigation continues and details may change as deputies collect information and conduct interviews.

Two injured individuals were treated at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital and another victim was at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

The Sheriff's Office and the Spring Independent School District wll provide additional security at the campus throuigh the next few days.

The sheriff and staff offered prayers and condolences to families snd friends of the victims.

He said investigators were looking into suggestions that the stabbings were related to gang activity. However deputies had not been called to the school about gang violence before today.
