Police Department Gang Homicide Detail arrest four suspects wanted for July 17th 2012 murder 
On Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at approximately 2120 hrs. patrol officers responded to the area of 700 E. Chestnut St. on a call involving shots fired and a wounded male. Upon arrival, officers found 18-year-old Edgar Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
The Orange County Fire Authority Paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Mr. Ortiz dead. The Santa Ana Police Department Gang Homicide Detail responded for the investigation.
The investigation identified four documented gang members as suspects:
Jesus Daniel Montes of Santa Ana, age 22
Veronica Wiist of Santa Ana, age 22
Male juvenile of Santa Ana age 17
Male juvenile of Santa Ana age 14
All suspects are in custody as well as the weapon used to commit the murder.
Suspects will be charged with murder and gang related charges.
