NEWS RELEASE





The Santa Ana Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying two robbery suspects. Both suspects are considered armed and dangerous. The victim in this case has offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects and is available for interview. The robbery was captured on video tape which will be provided to the press. The public is encouraged to call the Santa Ana Police Department Investigations Bureau at (714) 245-8422 if they have any information helpful to the identification of the suspects.

Case Synopsis
On 1-19-11 at 10 AM, a business owner arrived at his electronics shop, 2500 West McFadden in Santa Ana. While the victim was opening his business, two suspects drove up in a light blue Chevy Silverado Crew Cab. Thinking the suspects were customers, the victim directed them to park to the rear. When the victim opened the rear door to his business, he was struck on the back of his head with a handgun. The victim turned and saw the same person he previously directed to the rear of his business. There was a short struggle for the handgun and one round was fired.

The suspect told the victim he was going to kill him if he did not give him his money. The victim gave the suspect his money. The suspect fired two additional rounds in the air before fleeing in the Chevy Silverado.

Suspect Description
Suspect #1. Male, Hispanic, 30-40 years old, 5’ 7”. The suspect had a short brown hair with a receding hairline. The suspect was wearing dark sunglasses, a brown jacket, blue jeans and tan work boots. This suspect is depicted in photographs pointing the gun at the victim.

Suspect #2. Male, Hispanic, heavy set, wearing a white t-shirt and a black baseball cap. Suspect #2 stayed in the suspect vehicle during the robbery.

Vehicle Description
2006 Chevrolet 4-door Crew Cab, light blue, stock rims and no license plate. The suspect vehicle had a bed liner .

The victim will be at the Santa Ana Police Deprtment for media interviews starting at 1000 hours.
