Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office assist in 287(g) Enforcement Operation
Friday, May 29, 2026, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), assisted ICE - Homeland Security in a coordinated immigration enforcement operation conducted under the Federal 287(g) Program.
The operation was conducted in cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) and also assisted by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), under established federal immigration enforcement authorities.
The operation focused on locating and apprehending individuals who had previously been ordered removed from the United States by a Federal Immigration Judge and who had failed to comply with those lawful removal orders.
Sheriff’s Office personnel assisted federal authorities by providing operational support, officer safety coordination, and logistical assistance during the operation.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working collaboratively with federal and state partners to enhance public safety, support lawful enforcement actions, and ensure the safety and security of Beaufort County residents and visitors.
