Structure Fire – Meadowbrook Motel 605 RTE. 147 Burleigh, New Jersey
Middle Township Police Department
January 2, 2026 | 7:45 a.m.
On January 2, 2026, at approximately 7:45 a.m., the Middle Township Police Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the Meadowbrook Motel, located in the Burleigh section of Middle Township. The report indicated one adult male had sustained burn injuries.
Upon arrival, officers observed smoke coming from Unit #16 on the east side of the motel. Fire department personnel arrived shortly thereafter and initiated fire suppression efforts.
The victim, a 33-year-old male, was transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for treatment.
An active investigation into the cause and origin of the fire is being conducted by the Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit in coordination with the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
