Full Notification

On June 23, 2025, at approximately 4:45 a.m, the Middle Township Police Department was dispatched to Court House-South Dennis Road (CR657) in the Cape May Court House section of Middle Township for a report of a vehicle motor vehicle accident.  A preliminary investigation determined a Mitsubishi Lancer was traveling southbound on Court House-South Dennis Road when the vehicle entered into the northbound lane attempting to pass another vehicle when it struck a Honda Accord. 

As a result of the motor vehicle accident, the driver of the Mitsubishi, a 26-year-old-male, of Woodbine, New Jersey was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for further treatment.  The driver of the Honda, a 55-year-old-male, of Sewell, New Jersey was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division for further treatment.  A passenger of the Honda, a 13-year-old-child, of Sewell, New Jersey was transported to Cooper Medical Center where the child was pronounced deceased.

Court House-South Dennis Road was closed for approximately 5 hours.  The motor vehicle accident is still being investigated by the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit, and the Middle Township Accident Crash Unit.

Also assisting in the motor vehicle accident were the Goshen Fire Department, Cape May Court House Fire Department, New Jersey Department of Transportation and AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Services.
